Why choose Moffatdale?
We are a small school that sits among wineries and overlooks the
Bjelke-Petersen Dam in the South Burnett Region. One of the advantages of being a small school
is that our students are taught and cared for in close-knit, family style
atmosphere.
Our classes have been split into Prep, Year 1/2, Year 3/4 and Year 5/6. With teacher aides supporting each of the
classes, students are able to work in small groups providing them with additional
access to adult support, which offers many opportunities for our students to
achieve at their full potential.
Our caring staff aim to develop a passion for learning
within all of our students. Moffatdale
State School’s motto, ‘Learning How to Learn’ is evident by the way our staff utilise
technology in the classrooms to enhance learning opportunities and differentiate
their planning to ensure that every student have been provided the opportunity
to succeed.
We have specialty teachers visit our school each week teaching HPE, The Arts - Drama, Music, Media, Art plus Japanese for years 5/6 and Instrument Music for the older years 4 - 6's.
Moffatdale State School is a Positive Behaviour for Learning
(PBL) school. We have a strong focus on
using positive language to praise correct behaviours encourage our students to
do the right thing. Our three
expectations of Be Safe, Be Respectful and Be Responsible are explicitly taught
to our students and are always referred back to when discussing behaviour
choices.
