The Arts at Moffatdale SS
In past years, Moffatdale SS offered a regular Visual Arts
program as well as Music. This year, there is a greater variety of The Arts on
offer with Visual Arts, Media Arts, Drama and Music. The HPE teacher presents
dance. Each week, the children have an
hour and fifteen minutes, which is a wonderful opportunity for the teacher and
students not to feel rushed to complete the work!
As well as the regular classes, Moffatdale has brought in
special artists from the Flying Arts Alliance with the Small Schools Funding
and RAWArts. These specialist artists have joined their art with other
curriculum areas where possible. We plan to invite others, such as drama, opera
groups in the future. The school also supports local theatre presentations,
like Peter Pan at the Kingaroy High School.
To be ready for the Open Junior Art Competition at the
regional Wondai Art Gallery, the school is doing a special Art Club after
school. Students are chosen to attend because of their love of doing art, their
skills and behaviour.
Students at Moffatdale SS love doing The Arts and find the
classes hands-on and engaging!
